Power steering conversion

Post by Husky »

Hi all, and happy confined Easter!!!
I have a 1992 T4 2.0 petrol camper which I am "doing up"
It has no power steering which means the missus struggles a bit when parking etc.
I have a pal who has a donor 1996 T4 2.4D who has offered me all the power steering parts, pump, rack, etc.
Question is can it be fitted to my bus?
Anybody done it?
Any help/advice appreciated.

I think all the parts apart from the pump will be the same
We have a 2.5 5cyl petrol and had to replace a small pipe on the rack and from what I could make out even searching info they are all the same up to 97 isn

check you may need the front struts and stub axles , as maybe different from manual to PAS

Thanks for that Mocki. I never thought about the hubs TBH.
I will have to have a look at the whole set up on the donor van.
Thanks for your comment
