Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB

After having this kit for over a year, I finally got down to it

It's a fantastic lot with so much detail and finesse, I'm glad I got hold of one. I do hope that more of them surface if Chris gets back into it. There's some incredible talent on show here. And not my soldering. Which is a bit rusty.

Has anyone seen a manual later than version 0.4?

The petrol tach info is a bit thin.. though I'm going to take the tach signal, power and ground from the X5_DOPS header, shown in my photo. Has anyone done that? I believe the tach takes those 3 connections. I've not got it in the van yet, that's the next leap (pulling out the sacred blue foil)

Hi,
I decided to have a go at the original MidLifeCrisis solution to the dodgy foil. Things are moving along ok but I would really appreciate some help with the pin assigns from the veroboard to the original plug.

I’ve mapped the 14 contacts on the original plug to the tracks I think they go to on the veroboard. Before I connect it all up and something goes pfffzzzt, I would be grateful if anybody could give it the once over.

I haven’t got anything on the veroboard linked to original pin 9 which is a green wire. On the foil it states KL.1. What is this please?

ok - I think i can see now from Bentley that it's a tacho connector (green wire) foil 9. I haven't got one so I will ignore that.
If anyone that created the circuit board has any thoughts about my other connections to the pcb I'd be grateful for comments.

Well I've traced mine out so I'll make an image of it once I get a moment. It's only gone and all worked too.no magic smoke released and everything works. Blue foil be gone! Oh apart from the LCD clock, need to check the feeds to that.

Here's my version of a replaced foil. Homebrew PCB using toner transfer and 3d printed lampholders. All working since yesterday.
