Hi, can anyone identify the item arrowed. I removed the air box and found the hose is not connected to anything. It's also badly damaged. Bus drives fine.
Is it the MAF, do they even have such things?

is it a TD Syncro ?
then it's the turbo charger cooler, only fitted to Syncros, blows air onto the exhaust manifold and turbo, rarely work now, part number 073 959 175 C, still available from VW Classic parts https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de ... 8a082.html
