Idle a bit up and down

Post by drumsofdoom »

Hi everybody, my 2.1 generally runs pretty sweet but just lately the idle is a bit revvy, up and down somewhat. I’ll make a vid tomorrow morning to show what I mean but do you think it might be a timing issue? Or possibly a vacuum leak?

Thanks for any input. Video coming soon.

I'm no expert on idling but I suppose watching the carb while you getting the up&down revving may help to give you some idea? Could be vac lines?

Carb or injection? Or am I missing a clue?
Damned illusive problem on My 2.1 DJ but seems to have been fixed by an overhaul/replacement of the myriad of vacuum related seals and pneumoplumbing plus a squirt of WD40 and a wiggle of the idle related connectors. Probably me and my big mouthed myself now
Yes I know you should do one fix at a time but I don't want to be accused of spending more time on the old bus than Her Ladyship.
