If anyone has any practical experience of repairing torn vinyl they would like to share that would be appreciated
For the sake of clarity, I don't want to replace the whole vinyl roll, I'm looking to repair the existing tear.
Thanks.

You probably can get it shortened by sewing in a new awning piping, but other than that a new vinyl (or probably a new awning) is the solution.
You cannot repair this big scission.

Thanks, yes as it has torn mostly along the stitching, shortening it slightly and sowing in a new piping sounds like a good solution, I'll see if I can find someone locally to do that
