I have been taken for a ride by an untrustworthy individual who has only partially completed works on my van that I had paid for. The upshot is that after paying thousands I have just received a half finished van back which I am having to try to put right!
One of the list of things I need to address is the bottom of the cab doors - they were slightly rusty and the guy has basiacally cut the box section at the bottom of the door out if that makes sense. So, problem solved for rust, but there is now a gaping hole! Is there such a thing as a repair panel for this area of the door? I know they rust a lot due to water dripping in through the windows, but I cannot find any online. All the usual suspects sell repair panels for the outside, but not the inside. Or alternatively does anyone have any ideas? The monkey that was supposed to be doing the van had said he was going to mould some from a solid door and then create fibreglass replicas which isn't such a crazy idea but I don't have any solid doors!
I would just buy some doors, but the work which was completed was a respray so it would be a great shame to bin 2 doors I have just paid to have resprayed.
Many thanks in advance!
Rob.

Dont forget to make some drain holes?
Surely water gets in however you try to seal it.
Needs plenty of waxy rust prevention down there,
and clear drain holes I think..

Hey, sorry to revive an old thread but really interested in what you did with the cab doors. Im currently undertaking quite extensive bodywork and one of the big issues is the bottom of both doors underneath are fairly rusted with some holes appearing. We have a welder coming for another job so was keen to see what he might be able to cut out and weld in to tidy it up. The link to the picture above doesnt work anymore Dobble any chance you still have it?
