Yes they are real, many years ago there was a van owned by the upholsterer Bernard Newbury that was featured in a vw magazine, the tailgate opened to show off a massive array of speakers . This van had the Taifun square headlights , I got in touch with him and he ordered a set for me. They have hella lights and the grill has a space to put the badge with the stars on.
