Hi all,
I’m after a torque wrench, mainly to work on the van. Anyone have any good recommendations for one that isn’t too expensive? I bought one years ago but found it way too big to be used in the engine bay and the quality wasn’t great. Thinking around the £30 mark or would I struggle at that price?
Thanks in advance

Re: Recommend a torque wrench?
Should also add I’m after one for smaller bits and sockets, so a quarter inch one I’m guessing?

Hi Si Macc
Ive been a mechanic/ engineer for nearly 40 years
Only ever needed 2 Torque Wrenches at onr time for general use
10-60 nm 3/8 drive for general use
55-300 nm 1/2 drive for bigger stuff
I like norbar stuff and old Britool with rhe red pull out knob
Halfords branded are usually norbar rebadged as are sykes pickvant i think.
Never found a need for a 1/4 drive torque Wrench unless working on airframes in my military time
This is my opinion and not ness everyone else's
Regards
Rick

+1 for old Britool when you can find them, otherwise Teng tools are superb quality and excellent value for money (a third of the cost compared to new Britool when I bought a 3/4" drive torque wrench)

Thanks guys, really helpful. Didn’t think of Halfords, got one of their advanced spanner and sockets sets and been very impressed with it. Got some amazon vouchers to use up so was trying to use those, I’m sure I’ll find something
