Fuel tank fitting

Post by Troopy »

Hope this is in the right place.

I have ordered a new fuel system for Troopy as some previous genius seemed to think the best place for a fuel tank was under the bed inside him.

Now re-fitting an original system but how is the tank held in place as I can't seem to find any pictures or diagrams showing this.

Thanks in advance.

The tank is held in place with 2 metal brackets that hook into the crossmember behind the tank and bolt into the crossmember at the front. Have you still got the breather tanks under the front wheel arches ?

Diagrams... VWs online exploded diagrams, called ETKA. Various dodgy sites host them. Googling ETKA online gives me this currently

Choose Typ2/syncro, and your year from the resultant drop-down. Browse in wonderment at everything that is missing from the van...
