It took you how long? - Back by popular demand
The old thread got lost so here it is again ( hope it's OK in here )
This is about mechanical fixes to your T25/T3 that took you ages to get around to but were easy to do and when you finished you wondered why it took you so long.
I spent a year with a plastic tray under a leaking window, I had to empty the tray when it rained and it moved as i drove so I had to keep putting it back under the drip, probably hours of work over the year.....recently 5 minutes with a silicone gun and it was fixed.
This weekend my CO alarm went off, after some thinking I realised it was the faulty engine hatch seal which I bought a year ago but put off doing becuse needed gluing..... 20 minutes it was done.
this one took me 10 years to buy the part and 10 seconds to fit

DJ injector seals
forgot to buy them when I fitted the engine 18 months ago.
Did this in 10 minuites, just one M6 Bolt each side and injector pair comes off, new seals straight back on
Getting airbox and AFM off easy too.

3 years of a grinding starter motor complete with unpredictable starting! Finally got round to buying a replacement and changing which took less than hour all in after a bit of reading on the wiki and searching the forum for tips (thanks as ever).. The internal bearings in the old starter were completely shot but the bush was surprisingly in good order.

My rear wiper blade (posh I know) is mounted too far round....looks like it is drooping. The fix is far too time consuming and Labour intensive for me I’ll leave it another year or so and get it booked in to have it sorted rofl

Over 10 years ago I bought a new cold start handle - still not fitted it especially as the safe place that I put it in appears to have disappeared!

When I bought my bus in 2012, when I filled the screen washer, it spilled water everywhere. Last week, I finally got round to ordering the seal for the washer bottle. It's here now, but I haven't actually got round to fitting it yet. There's also the roof rack, side bars, fog lights, gas bottle, etc...

3d printing is great. I saw high street shops in Chicago where you could print designs off, can’t wait till we get these.

Re: It took you how long? - Back by popular demand
Following oil change last Summer, I had a slight oil leak at the sump plug - required a little glug of oil every couple of months to top-up. A couple of weeks ago I tweaked the plug up a bit and stopped the leak. Duhhh.
Why we do/don't do some things, when in retrospect it's f*cking daft to/not to, is beyond me!
...and in another few weeks it'll be time for another oil change...
