older and late cab doors -a difference

Post by Johnmck »

Hi trying to clarify if there is any difference with regard to fit.
Searched on here and got one thread saying no difference in fit but elsewhere been told is a difference to do with hinges?

Which is right, have some later doors i was going to refurb and fit but dont want to do that is they wont fit correctly
Thanks

The parts catalogue says the later doors fit the very earliest vans hinges etc are the same
I haven't ever done the swap myself though
The main difference late and early is afaik better steel protection, door skins may be galvanised (or similar treatment) on the later ones

Early ones have inlet/outlet holes on the front for the cab vent slider while late ones are solid.
Later ones are better for windnoise reduction, but needs rear vent windows.
