Homemade Spigot Bearing! - With Pics

So my mechanic working on my gearbox sent these pictures today.

Seems the original Golf Mk1 Gti conversion back in the early 90's used a homemade Spigot Bearing which has now seized to the input shaft.



Is this easily replaced?
