Re: Electric fuel pump 1.9dg
You may need a priming overide switch. If the carb float chamber empties due to van being unused for a while I cannot see how the pump will work if controlled by the coil untill the engine is running - but if the float chamber is dry?
Regards, running out of fuel and having to prime the pump, I fitted mine slightly lower than the tank outlet, re-filled the tank with petrol and engine started fine. The spec for the facet posi flow states it has a max 12in dry lift capability so It should self prime even if slighly higher than the outlet (I would have thought so....)

Thanks, I might fit a priming switch in the future then.
After hours of faffing about, the relay that I bought is DOA.
Some notes.
I took the live from point 1 on the coil (single green wire on mine), the pump works fine and all is good. When I go to point 15 as it says in the instructions (3 black wires on mine) pump still works but the engine rough idles a bit. Any input on this?
I think I will do a detailed picture and instructions when I have finished as there does not seem to be a step by step out there.
I would be glad of any input.
cheers

Set it up so that you can touch 'on and off' to the coil connection and note if the idling changes. If it does find another source.
