Gearbox Code 2nd Opinion

Post by Ecopod »

Hopefully title hasn't put everyone off!

Bought a project with a 4 speed box (which I'm quite happy about given my limited grasp of ratios etc and having had one previously)

Anyhoo went to clean up mounting bracket today before fitting and noticed the following.

Part No on top - 091 indicates 4 speed

Part No behind mounting bracket - 094 indicated 5 speed

And I think code is DW but can't quite decide so happy for a 2nd opinion.

So I'm thinking it may be a five speed but not sure - what will I need to change up front re linkage etc.

Thanks.

091301107C is the part number for the bellhousing which is either 4 or 5 speed, so I would go for it being a DW 5 speed.

it's a DW case at least so 5 speed, whether what is inside is DW you'd have to do some rotation of the input shaft in gear and count the rotations of the flanges to be sure but assume it's a DW

Thanks for the speedy replies and pointers - I'll have a go at counting rotations tomorrow before bolting back in place.

Cheers.
