Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Rear wiper MOTOR

Post by Lanciaman »

Is it possible to replace just the motor of the rear wiper assembly? I'm trying to assemble all required parts, almost there and have found a rear wiper mechanism, but the motor is missing. I think it might be a common motor used elsewhere, but not sure. Any advice gratefully received.

Yes the motors are prone to burning out so you often find mechanisms without motors for this reason. From memory I think it is the same as a MKII Golf rear, but there are likely to be others that are compatible.

I've read on a German Bulli forum that a Peugeot 205 rear washer motor fits along with the water tank.

Does the rear setup look this from a Golf III?

Sounds like there's a good chance of fitting a motor from something else. Thanks all, this little upgrade is certainly a drip drip slow burner, but I'm getting there! Anyone got a motah?

I can now say that the Peugeot 205 one does not fit. I picked up a genuine one the other day for 50€!
