CV boot clip pliers
One of my CV clips has disappeared so am replacing it. Simple question I hope - Do I really have to buy some CV boot clip pliers to fit the clip or can I use ordinary grips or pliers? Ta.

Re: CV boot clip pliers
never bothered with clips on the boot to shaft, tight enough fit without, use cable ties if you are bothered

Re: CV boot clip pliers
Thanks Itchy, I got an MOT advisory from an over-keen tester who saw a little grease on the shaft & the end of boot & assumed the boot was split. I've looked very carefully & there's no way the boot is split. The clip is missing & there's a very small amount of grease just creeping its way out where the boot meets the shaft but it's pretty negligible. Will cable tie it & carry on with my happy trails.

Smear the whole shaft with grease - that'll fox him!
