We're going to be changing the oil and filter on our 1984 watercooled 1.9 dg westfalia which is the best oil to use we will also be draining and changing the coolent but are a little confused of which is the best coolent thanks

Wiki and members tend to recommend 15-40w grade. I use semi synthetic simply because it is easier to get but a good quality mineral oil is also used by many members.

Antifreeze, I use pink G12. Granville zerocol 12 or Comma super longlife pink, both conform to VW/Audi spec 774D and the Granville costs £20 for 5 litres, gauranteed for five years, as it should do for spec 774D.

You need to check what colour your current cooling system is as you cannot mix blue AF with Pink AF.

Awesome thank you if I remember when I cheacked I'm sure it was pink so I'll drain it and use the same again
