Injector leak off pipe

Post by z3i »

Hello, trying to suss out where my leak off pipes from my injectors go on my 1.6 TD. They never had any on when I bought the engine. Tried searching and looking on oemepc but it doesn't show.

Just ordered some new pipe from brick weeks and a blank for the end. But I can't work out where the other end goes, would have thought it goes back into the fuel filter? But there's no bit for a hose to go to

Thank you

Mine goes to a hard black plastic fuel line back to the tank through the bulkhead on the nearside straight behind the cylinder head. I presume that they should all be the same.

Fantastic, thank you for that

Might have to invest in a diesel tank then. Mine is an Aircooled petrol tank and probably doesn't have it

Thanks again

And mine goes back to the filter in the engine bay, don't know what happens next. I do know my tank has two outlet spigots, one on each side of the lower rear edge of the tank. I'll take some photos tomorrow but looking at a google image search for VW JX might help you too.

I doubt that he would have had one of those filters as it would have already been connected. I get the impression that the diesel engine has been put in to replace a petrol one hence the petrol fuel tank.
You haven't got 2 outlets - one is a return, the one on the nearside.

Yeah my original engine is a 2l Aircooled so imagine my tank will only have one outlet?

I bought an SB engine from a Passat that I've just rebuild, came with the early style screw on diesel filter which only has two connections on, for the tank and fuel pump. So I imagine the leak off pipes should go to the tank. That's no problem, I'll have to invest in a proper diesel tank with the right outlets
Thanks guys
