Injection fuel pump

Post by slowcoach »

Hi folks,
I've had another thread in the modified engine forum, but now it's narrowed down to fuel issues a need a quick answer, as still hobbling through northern France with our baby!

My injection pump is suspect I believe. Bit of a buzz, more than usual. When I disconnect it and point it into a bowl to check the flow rate, the stream of petrol is not a woosh, more like a fairly gentle pour. Should it be quite a squirt? I've never seen the flow rate or how it should look. How many Litres per minute ?

Side note, fuel now appears clean and water free!

Here's a YouTube video I just did of it, might be more helpful...

So I've ran it into a can for 60 seconds, which was 1.5l, making 90l an hour. This is out of spec which is 130 to 180l . So new on ordered from bw and on its way out. Fingers crossed ....
