Quick fuel line question!

Post by pleasestartnow »

Hi all, just sorted out replacing the slave cylinder and was already to go for a spin and van wouldn't turn over. It was trying but just sounded like it couldn't. So went round back to have a look and both the feed and return fuel lines in the engine bay are empty. There should be a small bit of diesel in the tank so the questions are

1. should there always be fuel in the feeder line in the engine bay before I start?

2.is the feed line the line that comes into the fuel filter?

3. And finally is there an easier way to get fuel into this line than disconnecting the line and manually filling it with a squeeze bottle?

Should also add that the van has been sitting idle for the last 2 weeks due to no slave cylinder. Replaced air filter as well but did that 2 weeks ago and hadn't run it since I replaced it.

Put some more diesel in your tank first.

Cheers .

Sorted it. Just ducked diesel through the return line so I could see the feed line was full. Away she went then.
