Hi there just acquired an 89 syncro it's been converted to 1900 1y from 1600 Td the problem is I have no power to the sender unit on the what I believe is the thermostat housing, the gauge does work as in tried the wiki advice with the wires on 43 relay and it works as discribed in the link, not very electrical but can I just run another live to it? Have removed all the fuses they are all intact.

Re: Temperature gauge problem
If the temp sender on the thermostat housing has one connector, that goes to the gauge. If it has two connectors, one goes to the gauge and one goes to earth (doesn't matter which way around). There is no live connection to the sender.
If grounding the wire(s) at the sender sends the gauge to max then it is probably a faulty sender. If the gauge doesn't move then there is a wiring problem somewhere.
