Tetrashutz vs Dinitrol

Post by syncroandy »

I've generally used Dinitrol 4941 underbody wax but the price seems to have gone crazy and its now around three times that of Tetrosyl Tetrashutz. I'd be interested to hear of any views on Tetrashutz..
Syncrosport (taking a break as of summer 2024)

Can't really comment on the 4941 but I do rate dinitrol for cavity waxes etc and have a load here ready to go on.

I did my land rover's chassis with tetraschutz (over bonda rust paint) as it was available locally and well priced.... Goes on Ok and covers but I can't say much else. It isnt overpaintable and isn't marketed as a rust preventer.
What I do know is that it has almost zero resistance to both brake fluid (unsurprisingly) and diesel.

For wheel arches I now use Upol gravi-tex. good finish & overpaintable. Not sure about its rust or chenical resistance but it was cheaper than the 3m version.

Trouble is.... They all just list themselves as 'helps prevent rust'..... Doesnt really convince me they add much to the rust resistance other than the elastomer stone repelling surface and sealing properties. if you want things to remain rust free I think you've got to put something good underneath..

Another one to consider is Bilt Hamber. I'm a big fan of their products ..
