Disco interior lights...

Post by chris7ian »

My interior lights have developed a quirk in that when I drive around corners at anything other than a snail's pace and the bus leans a little, the courtesy lights switch themselves on! :x

They extiguish as soon as the suspension levels which leads me to believe a wire 'somewhere' is swinging side to side and earthing. Interestingly this doesn't seem to happen under acceleration or braking.
My first check will be the wires behind the lamps and the fuse box. If the problem isn't apparent there, can anyone suggest the next logical check?

Has anyone experienced this before - it's a new one to me as in my experience ligths normally go out when there's a fault! :P

Good call ...come to think of it, the hatch plunger switch is a little 'iffy'!

Well that was easy - the rear hatch wasn't latched properly, but enough to appear closed when pushed  Time to replace the dodgy plunger switch I think ;)
