I did the first oil and filter change myself today. All rather pleasing. Normally, in the past I have had garages do this for me.
I purchased a new sump plug, as the old one looked a bit worn. I took off the old sump plug, but it just didn’t seem to turn off, as easy as I expected, like there was some resistance
I inserted the new one. It’s got on a thread ok. Though again I expected it to be more easily turned.
I do suspect that a garage in past may of cross-threaded it or just done it up too tight.
Anyway the new sump plug is in ok, secure and does not leak!
If this is cross-threaded and at the next oil change this is an issue. Is this a massive job to re-thread the sump plug. Is it a engine out job?

Re: Oil Sump plug thread
I'm guessing that if you've replaced the sump plug it's still an original M14. If so, you'll be fine, (so long it hasn't been helicoiled). Even then you've still got a few lives left before you think of removing the engine. I've got a M17 plug in mine at the moment.

Yes, replaced it with a standard M14.
Ok well with the miles I do the next change will be probably 2018 now, so have some time left!
