I'd be interested in the answer. I got a 1.6d cs but the van was originally petrol. With all the news about clamping down on diesel I'm thinking I should switch it back. Maybe a nice Subaru engine

Diesel to petrol

It would be a good idea to check any emission zone requirements before you go for an expensive upgrade, if that is your reason for doing it.

Taking the proposals for Londons ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) as an example, the minimum standard for petrol vehicles will be Euro 4, i.e. first registered in 2006. There is also currently no provision to allow older vehicles to be upgraded with a compliant engine, or filter system, as there is with the current LEZ. So even if you decided to fit a petrol engine that was Euro 4 or newer, it is unlikely that it would allow your vehicle to be registered as compliant under the current proposals.
