Auxiliary heater retrofit question

Post by silverbullet »

Can anyone tell me the size of the holes that pass through the firewall for the aux heater feed/return?

The hoses are different sizes, ETKA lists two part numbers for the grommets but only gives info on one and that just says "27"

I have the smaller grommet but not the larger one. Everything else in hand.

I know where they need to be popped through, this is last knockings before the van finally makes a move to the restorer (Monday!)so I am clearing up the odds'n'sods jobs.

Hoses should be the same size, 22mm. Just measured the holes in my van with grommets in place and the hole in the metal looks about 27mm . The vw diagram parts list says you need two of them, part number 253265598 . They do not seem to have a tight fit around the pipes, maybe wear on mine , should be a better fit , gases could get in .

Hoses/holes were the same size on mine when I took them out also.
