Hello All,
I have a Zig DCU-3 unit, which charges my leisure battery from the mains. I also have a Zig control(Zig MC-2000) unit above my sink area (my camper is a T25 Auto-Sleeper Trident, 1990, 2.1 ltr Waterbox). The DCU-3 unit seems to work since its light comes on when it is switched on. On its front, there are two fuse holders. The upper one is for a 2 amp fuse (this is empty, and with no cap - I think it has always been this way since I've had the van), while the lower one is all there, cap and all, with a 15 amp fuse. So my first question is, does anyone have a similar unit and does it have an empty 2 amp fuse socket (ie, is it a necessary fuse)?
My second question relates to the Zig MC-2000 unit. When the 12 volt switch on it is turned on, I can read my water gauge and my battery power indicator. I am presuming that this is the leisure battery, and it registers 'normal'. However, with the DCU-3 unit turned on, the charger light for the leisure battery does not come on. Should this be the case, or will the DCU-3 unit only start charging the leisure battery when it registers as low? If it is supposed to be on when the Zig DCU-3 unit is turned on, is there a way of checking it to see if it is actually charging, but with a faulty indicator light?
I hope that all of this is clear. It has been a very long time since I have used 'Honoria' to go camping, and I have forgotten how things work, so if anyone can help, it would be most appreciated.
Cheers,
Sal
