Battery level Indicator ( T25 Westfalia )

Not being very 'sparky/electronicky' I could do with some advice regarding the Battery/Water Level Indicator diode lighting panel in front of the cooker/unit.

When I switch on the unit to check Battery Level BOTH the Green ( top light K52 in diagram) AND the Red (bottom light K54 ) are BOTH lit !?

I think the Green indicates Service Battery above 12 volts AND the Red indicates Service Battery below 12 volts which is confusing ?

Is the Service Battery fully charged OR not ? Why should both lights be illuminated ?

Any assistance in explaining/solving this would be appreciated

And Happy Easter to you,my guess is that the " house" battery voltage is just high enough to light the green" ok" led and just low enough to light the red " low" led.
Buy yourself a cheap digital multimeter and check the house voltage!

I have a westy but there are a few panel types out there. I don't see a diagram you refer to but on mine there are 4 lights in a vertical row on the batt side. Green amber and red. The bottom red light is the lpg gas warming light. It's controlled by the other switch - can you post a photo of your panel?

It's the s2 switch that turns on the lpg heater. The column on the left is water level x 3 plus the bottom one (green) is an indicator that should light up when the fridge is on gas but the red one at the bottom on the right is lpg warmer.

Multi meter Tests as follows:-

0845 - Engine has been stopped for a couple days Eng Bat 12.19v and Service Bat 12.45v
1245 After Engine run for 1 hour Eng Bat 12.78v and Service Bat 12.74v

So, maybe all is charging ok!? Batteries ok !?

Ref Panel Indicator Lights, had no idea about the LPG warmer !!!! Well done IndigoSteve. On my outlet pipe from the LPG Tank I have noticed a spring clip unit with a flat metal plate, guess this must be the LPG warming device ? Only needed in cold climates ?

So, Is it fitted to warm the LPG when it discharges from the pressure reducer which concurrently cools/freezes? More so in colder climates.

Conclusion: All panel Lights (and control PCB) appear to be in working order ?

I've never used mine but if memory serves I links to a wire going into a grommet next to the gas inlet in the floor. Mines not attached to the inlet pipe - at least I don't think so. Glad its all sorted

Your panel sounds like its working normally.

As others have stated there are 2 different Westfalia panels.
Sounds like you have the 2 switch one?
(1. turns the led battery etc.. lights on, 2. turns on the heater for the Lpg and the red Led 'Heater on' on the panel)

The heater switch heats the spring clip flat plate next to your outside LPG tank. (turn on and touch with your fingers you should feel it get warm)
The idea is to prevent the LPG freezing in the cold - unless near 0 temp don't worry not needed.

Yes all seems charging as it should.

If you have the Westie fridge/kitchen unit setup, Brickwerks sell a sticker that fits to the battery level indicator for the price of £3.84. Go to Brickwerks, then T3, then Westfalia, then electric and you will find the sticker there. It makes sense of the different lights, including the water tank levels.
