Squeaky clutch pedal cure?

Post by hughzt »

My clutch pedal squeaks badly, especially on longer journeys.

Does anyone have any suggestions on an easy way to deliver some oil/WD40 to the pedal shaft?
It's just too far up inside the dash to reach with an oil can or spray from below and I don't want to have to take the top of the dash apart so I just wondered if anyone has a special tool or method that they've used.

Not sure if it's related but my clutch pedal used to squeek badly until I changed the master cylinder which was leaking fluid, just a handy byproduct but not necessarily the solution. ..

When I stripped my pedal for repair I found that the shaft was still well greased and the squeeeek that I had had been caused by the clevis pin ( which was the cause of the need for repair) - I suspect that that is the area that you need to address rather than the shaft.
This is what happened to mine when it stopped squeaking: (and the solution)
