Run a tap up it and pull it out, M12 tap if I remember right but there's info on the wiki and searching previous posts will get you a more definitive answer.

Don't forget to soak the new one in oil over night.

With me it was a dodgy ignition switch, twice. Can't see which gear box you have but automatics don't have a bush.

Not the starter motor - the bush.

I used a 12mm tap. Wind it in and keep turning. It will draw out the old bush. You don't need to pull on it

Also as i remember, helps if your arm is as flexible as a piece of rope, and you can see round corners , plus a black belt in yoga :-)

The m12 tap worked perfectly, does the Bush need to go all way in to the end or just till flush with edge.

After fitting new starter motor and new starter bush all I get when I turn the key is a clicking noise from the relay in the black box in the engine compartment 1.9DG,is this normal.

Check your voltage at the starter motor when someone turns the key for you. Sounds like you have a voltage drop - try charging the batteries. If the voltage is good and you have charged the batteries then check the earth - clip 2 jump leads together then clip 1 end to the neg terminal on battery and 1 to the engine somewhere near the starter motor
