1.6td oil pressure readings help

Post by quattrodave »

I've finally got a vdo gauge and sender fitted courtesy of brickwerks :ok to my jr engined westy multivan.
I was a bit concerned towards the end of last year when a small piece of white metal came out with the old oil and feared the worst.
I was encouraged by the readings today but what does anyone think?
Cold start idle 4bar
Cold start 2000rpm 4.3bar
Hot idle 0.6 bar
Hot 2000rpm 1.5 bar ( it picks up to this figure fairly quickly when revved)
Cheers

Seems fine, mine is about the same, cold idle 4.5 ,hot idle .9/1bar,hot at 3000 rpm3 bar on a "sb" I do have a front mounted oil cooler though.
Without the oil cooler the oil gets to 130 deg c!! On my test hill (3 gear for 10 minutes at30 deg c ambient)
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]

Thanks Dave, that's reassuring. I was concerned as the hot readings seem a little low but I'll just keep my eye on things.
