Can anyone advise how to test the Auto Advance unit that sits on top of the diesel fuel pump on my 1.6 TD JX?
How can I tell if it is working correctly?
Any mods etc ?
It is really common that the diaphragm is broken in the LDA on JX TD engines. When the LDA is not working the van will really struggle up hill. With a working LDA the difference is huge.
Thanks for the input guys!
What does LDA stand for ?
Ref Dave Friday, there is a good photo posted above by nrgsmith from Synchronised that shows the LDA Unit, the round drum bit is where the bellows/springs are. My 1.6 JX TD looks just the same.
I now need to do some testing
Have now tested mine and seems it aint working at all, next question:-
Where can you get replacement internal service parts i.e. 'O' rings, spring(s), diaphragm etc. I see Brickwerks has a complete New LDA Unit at £160, but surely a service kit can be obtained from some source ?

LDA is a not serviceable item. Altough it can be done DIY. You will need some nitrile diaphragm material.
I found this by google: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... 7-223-2560" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Do you still have the contact in Germany, maybe he is a regular eBay seller !?
Could be very helpful if you could pass on his business/e mail address please
