16d jx? gear box strip rebuild manual wanted

after noon everyone

my gear box just gave up on me, only had truck on road a week so I thought I would remove it and try rebuilding it, how hard can it be lol . I do have a good mechanical knowledge but have never opened up a gear box. is there a imploded diagram any where ?? ive hunted the net for a good couple of nights now, found loads of info on type 2 boxes but nothing on type 3...

any info would much appreciated. also if anyone knows where to get spares to repair it too

Not a good idea unless you have the specialist tools and you know what you are doing.

If you've never opened up a gearbox, then I would say the T25 box is not the one to start on.

I've done 4th gear and 3rd/4th synchro hub (4 speed box) with only a home made puller plate, but if you have to disturb the pinion shaft you need special tools and measuring equipment. There is a thread somewhere on here where someone makes the special tools, but I can't find it ATM.

o then, so by the sounds of it I need the Bentley manual to read up on and see if its with in my skill set, I am a mechanic and have a good selection of tools available just no info on the box.... if all goes well I might be able to help others

So next question then do any of you lovely people have said info from Bentley manual??? can repay in beer tokens and cuddles

After a bit of research I think I have a 009 gearbox from looking at pictures

094 5 speed box
easy enough to get apart, mark the adjusting rings against the case accurately and so they can't be mixed up
you can make a tool for the adjusting rings, for the tensioning ring a drift punch, for the locking collar I have never tried without the tool and even with the toolset they can be nigh on impossible, got one in the freezer had 3 attempts already, if this cycle of heat and impact doesn't shift it then the dremmel is coming out and it will be cut

Aidan thanks for the in put. Mines a 4 speed I think, well that was all the gears I could find. Lol I will give it a bash once I have some pics to reference against . I will try find the codes on the box tomorrow and take some pics. It was whining a bit in second but when I reversed it would lock up when I depressed the clutch so I'm guessing something is broke in there.
