Eberspacher D1L Bargain or not ?

Post by Ric1 »

Scrolling through a local online boot sale i came across an advert that said "Wobasco van heater £50" sounds hot :pimp ... Clicky click and its what looks like a Eberspacher :D First pic from the add ... Image

So i go to collect it asap thinking its a bargain and hoping to get heat in my van asap as ive been fitting silicone hoses just to bypass the flappers and pipe work as they are £200 to replace.

Is this model powerful enough to heat my van being 1700w ?

Image

It only came with these parts ... Image What else do i need ?

One red wire has been cut, two spade connectors and a connector block go to what ? Image

Fuel inlet, exhaust and air inlet look nasty ... can they be replaced ? Image

Would i be looking at more than £200 to get it running ?

Thanks in advance.

Firstly - it is a diesel and you are petrol. ( unless you are running a Lister Aircooled diesel engine in your van :D )
Secondly - it looks like an old heap of junk. It was made in 1982 so it will be long past its 'best before' date.
Single heat only - if used with the thermostat will cause extra drain on the battery.
Spares will be virtually unobtainable and not be cost effective to attempt to refurbish it even if it is able to run in any way. It looks to me that you have wasted your cash there.

It is down to one person ahead of you on my 'petrol queue' but due to lack of good health I have been unable to press ahead with the kits as quickly as normal.
