T3 Fuel tank

Post by whitebob »

I need a new fuel tank for my T3 1990. Can any one recommend the Brickwerks one, or should I go for a more expensive one? Everybody seems to say that Brickwerks quality is good.

Best stick to Brickwerks , the more expensive ones are probably the same, just overpriced.

just putting my Brickwerks one back together, it seems good quality. Remember you have to paint it, its only in primer, if you don't treat it right in the first place, no matter how much it costs, you'll be back to square one in no time!

fitted quite a few of brickwerks tanks, never had a problem, give it a very good blow out first, the tanks are a good price as well

BW tanks are good. Make sure you get someone who knows what theyre doing to fit it. The breathers are fiddly. My garage had two goes but I can still smell petrol when I fill it up

Yes I fitted a Brickwerks tank late last year. I was almost swayed by a eurocarparts one off 30% discount and thought better of it. I gave it an extra paint before fitting and everything lined up spot on.

Good blog I found helped me out to double check things (think he frequents here)

The trickest bit is swaping the fuel sender, sometimes they wont go back in dont force it as it WILL snap, there will be some resistance tho. Fitted euro car parts tanks they are good, no proplems with them either. They may be the same make.

Just done another one today - always use BW. You just know it'll be right.
The guide is good, if a bit verbose, but main tips are:
Fit breathers onto side pipes first! Cross balance pipe is fixed to van first, not tank, and goes above the handbrake cable and throttle cable.
