Fluke 101

Post by DoubleOSeven »

I asked for one of these for xmas and as I'm not afraid to ask a silly question, "there doesn't seem to be a setting for measuring Amps??"

No sorry it does not.

The trouble with the term multimeter is that it does not define what it will measure, you need to check
some meters will do current but only say 500mA no use you need a 10A multimer min for vehicle electrics.

This is an ammeter. :D
No messing with 10A limits - 1000A for this.

Cheers. Another failed purchase!...A fool and his money are soon parted!

I did buy a T25 though, so sometimes I get it right?

I found the fluke 77 to be a good all round meter for vehicle and household electrics.

Look on the bright side it does frequency so that's useful

Seriously, can you use frequency as a tacho I wonder? ( to set idle speed, or measure oil pressure without a tacho), I really should know this :D

Fluke an excellent meter. Personally I think a separate ammeter better anyway as its easy to blow a multimeter if you accidentally leave a lead in the wrong hole.
