wiring for rear wash wipe

Post by philmcC »

I have a autohomes Komet 1.9 DG syncro. It wasn't fitted with the rear wash wipe originally. Because I had to change the tailgate the new one came with a rear wash wipe mechanism. Did VW fit the wiring back to the C pillar on all Caravelle's only connecting it up to the rear wash wipe if that was ordered?.philmcC

Phil it's unlikely the wiring is there, unless you had a heated rear screen there won't be any wiring to the rear at all, the lights will be the only wiring in the gutters and that only goes half way

I recently fed some wires from the tailgate, down the A-post and up to the dash. Was easy enough using fibre glass 'fishing rods' that electricians use. You may just need to remove the grab handle on the A-post as the screws protrude into the channel, in my case the rod kept hitting it and refusing to go beyond it, 2 screws later and it was sorted. Hope this helps.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Thanks for that, appreciated. It had a heated rear screen and the wire for that is at the top left-hand side of the aperture. I'm going to be brave and remove the panel that covers the C pillar. It's part of the furniture so a bit of a pain to remove. I'll have a go at the weekend. philmcC

I assume that's not the same loom that I'd enquired about?
