Re: Coolant shortage circuit probs
Got a replacement from VHW. It appears to be the old type, as when I disconnect my coolant shortage sender, the light starts flashing and the gauge rises to the top. Still, better that not working at all.
Many thanks to all. Oh, and while under the van loosening the gearbox fill plug, I noticed another wee coolant leak... tightened it up...

Re: Coolant shortage circuit probs - Update
Update: lost my coolant today, did I get a warning with my new blurry control unit? The one that worked when tested after it was fitted?? Did I fAAAARRRGGGHHHk!!
Anyway, no permanent damage done hopefully. Fixed the leak and drove home using what was in my fresh water container.
Going back to VWH...
