No heat from blowers!

Post by Ric1 »

I'm not getting any heat from my vents although there is plenty of air.
Previous owner mentioned oil leak and it dripping on the heat exchange but said it was now connected ... so assume a disconnection is still there or something ? Where do i start to find the disconnection ?
I've ordered cork gaskets for said leak.

Thanks in advance :D

Ok, as nonone has answered this:

Its an Aircooled so you need to crawl underneath to area between engine and gearbox and check that the ducts beteen exchangers are actually there and that heater flaps are wide open on the exchangers. Often, the cables break and they end up wedged open but unless these flaps are open, no heat will come out.

The pipe between the flapper thing and the exchanger is disconnected on both side and it looks as if there is not enough of a lip to get it connected back up although i have not tried and will do so this wknd :ok

Maybe disconnected because dripping oil has found its way inside the heat exchanger, push rod tube seals could be the culprit. You will gas yourself if there is oil in the exchangers !
