Replacing Cab door seals inc quarter lights

Post by Sailsy »

Hi all,

I plan to change both sets of window scrappers and window seals on the cab doors including the quarter light seals tomorrow. It looks fairly straightforward in the Bentley manual.

If you have done this is there anything I should look out for or be aware of before I start. Does the front guide runner come out without removing the main window glass.

Any info most appreciated.

Cheers

Wind the window glass fully down.Remove the scrapers and pull the glass seals away There's a 10mm bolt that secures the upright runner to the door, plus a phillips screw at the top, through the door frame

Then just yank the assy back to release it. Reassemble in reverse order; not a bad idea to lube the rubber around the new frame so it goes easily into the door shell.

:ok

Cheers for the info.

What would you recommend to use to lube the rubbers before fitting them.

Washing up liquid, green swarfega, anything slippery really. Wipe if straight off your paintwork afterward in case it might stain or something

As far as the inner & outer scrapers and window channel go it'll take about 10mins per door it's that easy :) The quarterlight shouldn't be too hard if it's anything like that in a Bay
