How many amps does it take to run a DG at 3000 rpm from the alternator? (batt disconnected)
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)

3A coil
2A choke + bypass valve

11A manufold heater
4A duct heater

good start, so removing the heaters at working temp... 3A?

5A on mine because choke heater and bypass permanently on (as wired by VW)
easy to measure for yourself, there is a ignition 12V spade male female connector in black box, black wires in and out.
disconnect fit ammeter start rev nuts off measure :D
