petrol rev counter.

Post by bigbadbob76 »

Hi Y'all.
Just killing time before Satan comes down my non-existent chimney.
Looking at the wiring diagrams for DG engines from '87 onwards.
Diagram shows a rev counter (item G5) and associated wiring to the ignition coil, 12v supply and ground.
Diagram does not show an analogue clock, just a digital one.
Can anyone tell me-
1- if these were ever fitted?
2- are they available?
3- is the wiring really there?

I'd like to swap my clock for a rev counter, simple way is to use a pod one and wire it to the existing wiring but the proper one would be neater.

Merry xmas to you all.
Bob.

Aye.

Did this 6 months ago or so.
If you have the `buzzer of doom` then the wiring will be in the loom already from the engine bay to the instrument cluster.

It's the green wire from the coil and you should see it at the 14pin plug under the dash.

Not sure what year they started using though?

Happy Chrimbo Bob.

And a happy crimbo to you too Smiffo.
I'll check for the wiring at some point in a few days.
Did you swap clock for rev ctr or add a pod?

Yep, exactly that.
My analogue clock was broken anyway. I gave it an ultimatum - start working by Monday, or I upgrade you to a rev counter.

It called my bluff :rofl

E D I T - Try and get the petrol and temp gauges with the rev counter though. They are different
( Also make sure you get the petrol one. Diesel one won't work. )
