Extra gauges - wiring help required.
Now then, an idiots guide is required if possible please.
Basically, I need to pick up a live feed from around the binnacle as well as a feed for the illumination of the gauges. Is it possible to do this without cutting the wires? More importantly, where am I picking up the relevant connections? Many thanks.

Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Are there spare connectors on the fuse box that I can pick up?

Re: Extra gauges - wiring help required.
Bulbs will draw half of bugger all (relatively anyway
)
Crimp new uninsulated terminal to heater control bulb (with extra wire for new gauges ) and run off there. Wiring/fuse is plenty man enough to run a couple more 1 or 2w bulbs. Better than cutting into multiplug.
Alternatively there is a terminal on the back of the fuse board that is live but only when dipped/mains are on that is for the headlight washer system. Obvs won't work with side lights.

I've used the feed for the illumination after the dimmer, this way they all dim with the existing dash lights.

Ooh, that's a smart idea. I'll pull the switch out tomorrow and have a look.

I was wrong it's grey/blue for dash lights

ciggy for power is not ignition 12V it's permanent so no use. The non standard red spade in the pic is spare unless somebody added something already, mine in the pic is the lpg

Re: Extra gauges - wiring help required.
If you have now fed your stereo from leisure battery, as many have, then you should have 2 spare lives from original circuit.
One will be permanent live, the other will be live when ignition switched on...
Not sure what a `safe` load for those will be though?

Leisure battery??? It's the barest of bare panel vans, no such luxury - purely utilitarian.
