Had the same problem, then my pump eventually packed up.
New pump (not expensive £10 approx) really easy to fit.
Not seen the fault since.

Silly question time... where is the pump located? I haven't seen mine, but mine doesn't work. I haven't investigated at all yet though to be honest.
I do know where the washer tank is though!
