How high for engine removal

I have a 2.0 air cooled autospleeper pop-top and I am building a lean to car port for it.
I'm wondering how high I would need to jack the back up if I were to ever need to remove the engine.
This is so I can decide how high the car port would need to be to remove the engine with the van under the car port.
My driveway slopes a bit front to back, so with a horizontal car port I already have some headway at the rear.

Dunno about Aircooled but can't be much different to water cooled which can be removed with standard ramp height or less.

0.5 metres tops

ultimately it depends on what you are willing to remove, a WBX bare is about 350mm tall and the clearance under my van isn't far off that without jacking.

Whereas I prefer to remove as much as possible in the van, makes the engine light and easy to move.

I used How Hi to remove an engine once. Did a good job. His cousin, Fu Kin Lo fitted some H & R springs for me at the same time. The Workshop manager , Sum Ting Wong, was excellent at diagnosing the issue and the Dyno operator (Tai Ni Po Ni) freed up some much needed BHP

So to minimise height, would it be a case of whip off carbs, air filter and dipstick tube, throttle linkages etc, then lower with a crane onto a sheet of strong ply, then drag it out on the wood ?

If you do have a hard surface put three thin steel rods or tubes under the wood tray, makes pulling the tray out easy.

That's great. Thanks for the replies. Hand Winch down onto a sheet of wood on steel rod rollers looks the way to go, with about 15cm headroom on the car port should do it. Cheers.

Not sure if Aircooled is the same height as water cooled, maybe tinware adds to height, you need to be sure becase 15cm isn't much
