Connecting shaft - correct name?

Afternoon all.

I am after the name of the following part please:



Story: trying to help someone with all the bits needed for PAS - now when I bought mine it came as a bundle.
This part was replaced with a shorter one ( I think it was shorter ) and a UJ joint.

Just so I don't send him on a wild goose chase, can someone please let me know if it really is called the `connecting shaft` ?

It is called a Relay or Intermediate steering shaft.

That is a good link Itchy.
Gonna keep that one. I found it in the HAYNES manual, but it merely called it `connecting shaft` which I didn't think sounded an offical name

The difference between the original and the Carat wheel is minimal. I'm off over to Amazon to see if I can get a load of tinned spinach delivered. It's actually a long term project for when my other half drives the van but that won't be until the bodywork is 'presentable'...

Actually W2Do, I might have one of the pipes that connects to the pump...
The expensive one that has the pressure switch going into it...

If you don't get one cheap as part of a `deal` or `bundle` then I will see if I can have a rummage for it.

Stupidly I bought one thinking I would need it, but when my bits turned up the old one was already connected to the pump..!!

I'm sure it will be in my box of bits. Let me know if you want me to find it or if you struggle finding one - I will let you have a discount on it
