Smashed tailgate glass

Post by Ralf85 »

Some scroat smashed my tailgate window glass last night. My local trader cannot find green tinted glass to replace it, so the replacement will be clear. I know that windows can be tinted. Can anybody recommend somebody local to do it for me?Thanks guys.

Cheers. I'll follow that advice. It seems that some guys went through our estate, broke my window and tried to break the window of a car as well.
I would like to have green tinted glass, but most companies only use black tinting film. Perhaps I will have to try and find a second hand tailgate glass.

The green tint is part of the glass. Boy racers tints are stick on additions.

As to the plexiglass idea, it works fine. I AM that man and the plexi has lasted well. No more broken glass since.

Cheers Aidan. It's not available from any of the regular suppliers, so I have bought the one on ebay. I am going to get a clear plastic film put on it before installation to save having shards of glass everywhere, just in case somebody else decides to break that one. Thanks again for that - much appreciated.

I collected what seems to be the only green tinted tailgate glass in the UK. Brand new old stock as advertised with the original label on and manufactured date of August 2004. I've tucked it away for now in case the vandals return.

That'll be a great bargain for somebody.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Ralph.

If you want to put the bid in, I am happy to collect and store while you sort out some transportation / 8090 express?

Let me know if you need it.

Do you mean Ralph or me Ralf85? If me it's not needed. As I said above I collected a green tinted glass on 30 November. So, I don't need to bid for another one. Thanks for the offer though. Cheers.
