Rear shift rod thingy
I had a problem selecting gears. Reverse etc. Bought the parts I thought I needed from brickwerks. Started swapping it all over from the front. Nothing seemed too bad except the stop plate which had broken one of the "blades" off. Well I sourced one and started to undo the rear shift rod from the UJ and discovered the rear rod has snapped next to the T piece socket. This looks like it has been repaired before but obviously not that well. Well I've found my problem. But where could I get a new rear shift rod?

Or these people
Wagonbuild - main site:

Make sure you get the right one. I think rear end alters on Air cooled, Diesel and Syncro etc. Not 100% sure on differences, but there are some and not sure what van you have....
Give them a bell, the chap is really helpful.
Pop your van type / engine type in your description too Rob, it makes it far easier to answer your queries mate
E D I T: this link takes you to a page with a petrol one on for £45... Make sure it is the petrol one you need first though.!!

Hmmm.
The rear rod is definitely the same for WBX petrol 4 and 5 speeds, but I am quietly confident that diesel are different, and prob Syncro too.
I will let someone else confirm 100% on that - or let you speak to the people on the links and ask.
Put a wanted add on here in the `wanted` section though. You never know...

Rob
you need syncro diesel specific rear linkage, Mick is hard to get hold of some of the time you just have to keep trying, I find 10am weekdays he's fairly available.
I don't have a spare diesel syncro linkage shaft here I'm afraid
