Glow fuses

Post by Sir Brixalot »

I'd never heard of them although they've been around for year,s I bought some without knowing. Went to check my fusebox to check reverse lights fuse - the fuse was nicely glowing red because it had blown and immediately apparent. Though I'd mention it in case others weren't aware of them

Actually just grabbed a box in Halfords thinking they were normal fuses. I was confused for a minute seeing the glowing fuse at number 15. Saves the hassle of pulling them unnecessarily

A very expensive alternative to just looking at the list on the fusebox lid! If you're going to spend the extra ££ why not opt for resettable fuses instead? At least you don;t throw them away when they pop!

Resettable fuses are not usually fast blow. So the protection is lower

TBH the extra cost on fuses pales into insignificance in the big scheme of things with my van.
