That's great Aidan, many thanks.
I'll drop some oil out next weekend and pop some molyslip in, pretty sure it was in when I drained it as the oil was grey.

I too had a slow cold shift problem using the GL4 Comma oil. Recently changed to fully synthetic bought from ECP, now no problems
Its also a good idea to use a tube Molyslip as recommended.

Re: Changed gearbox oil now problems - update !
Finally got round to this today, drained about 0.5 litres out the 'box, added a tube of molyslip and set off for a drive.
Still notchy at first as expected but things gradually improved such that the 2nd gear crunch has gone!
A bit notchy into 3rd but I can live with that. Many thanks to all those who offered advice, much appreciated

Dropped about 0.3 l out of the 'box, added Molyslip and now a few months and several hundred miles later the change is much better (could be due to the warmer weather as well I guess!)
I also lubricated the linkage under the spare wheel with some ptfe spray grease and that also made a noticeable difference.
Thanks to all who offered advice
